I’m sure you know of Twitter, a social network site with the little bluebird logo. It’s a place where you can connect with thousands of people in a matter of seconds. That’s a good thing. Or is it?
What Is a Social Network Site
Simply put, a social network site is one where you can connect with people on a digital social level. Though they are on your list of followers doesn’t make it a social network.
In actuality, how many of your followers or those you follow do you really connect with in a social manner? My guess, not that many. I started thinking.
With that in mind I have created a little social activity to test the theory of Twitter the “social network site” to see how many people will actually “connect” with the idea.
The Social Network Test
Here’s how it works.
First go to Twitter and RT (retweet) this entry. Are you really connected with your network?
Second, come back to this page and enter a comment about your Twitter experience. Let us know if you find it to be useful as a social network site or do you find it more of a digital soapbox.
Finally, watch the results to see how many “real” comments are made on the Twitter post as well as here.
My guess…digital soapbox.
Go now to RT the Twitter entry. Be sure to post your comment below.
